Book Review: Peter E. Earl, Toward a Wider Vision of Behavioral Economics

In a recent publication in Œconomia, KLI postdoctoral fellow Enrico Petracca reviews economist Peter Earl’s intellectual autobiography that narrates the story of Earl's personal approach to behavioral economics. Earl discusses the reasons why his approach has not reached wider acceptance (compared, for instance, to Richard Thaler's) and offers lessons for future generations of behavioral economists. The review is appreciative of Earl's book but points out that its tone is perhaps too self-critical, as a new form of behavioral economics inspired by Earl and other earlier economists is currently being developed.
