Research Interests:
Gerd B. Müller is professor emeritus from the University of Vienna where he headed the Department of Theoretical Biology. He is president of the Konrad Lorenz Institute for Evolution and Cognition Research in Klosterneuburg, Austria, and president of the European Society for Evolutionary Developmental Biology. His research interests include developmental pattern formation, evolutionary innovation, evo-devo, and the conceptual advancement of evolutionary theory. Müller serves on the editorial boards of several scientific journals, including Biological Theory where he is an associate editor. He is editor-in-chief of the Vienna Series in Theoretical Biology, an MIT Press book series devoted to theory in the biosciences.
